An early competitor to the EA Sports NHL series, NHL Powerplay '96 features motion-captured players, an NHL Player’s Association license, a variety of managerial options, and the ability to play seasons and tournaments. It is the first NHL game to include a World Tournament mode in which the NHL players can compete against each other on their respective national teams.
